Mexico COVID-Mexico COVID-19, News May 18, 2020 Gradual Reopening Actions in Mexico On the eve of a possible end to containment, the Government of Mexico has announced a series of actions for an orderly reopening, with the aim of continuing health care and at the same time reactivating the Mexican economy through 3 stages.Stage 1.- Starts on 18 May and refers to the reopening of activities in municipalities without contagion and which, in addition, are not in the vicinity of municipalities with confirmed cases.Stage 2.- Consists of carrying out preparatory actions for the reopening of activities in general.Stage 3.- Starts on 1 June 2020, according to a regionalised traffic light system for the reopening of social, educational and economic activities.Construction, Mining and Transport Equipment Manufacturing resume activities.Additionally, it is established as an extraordinary action that the activities of the construction, mining and transport equipment manufacturing industries will be considered as essential activities, therefore they will be able to start work on 1 June 2020 by implementing the guidelines for health safety in the workplace published by the Ministry of Health in coordination with the Ministries of Economy and Labour and Social Welfare, as well as with the Mexican Social Security Institute.
