Hurricane Season 2020

Official start from 01 June to 30 November 2020The National Meteorological Service of the Conagua forecasts the development of between 30 and 37 named hurricanes in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans this year. Most hurricanes develop paths far from the Mexican coasts; however, every year an average of 4 or 5 cyclonic systems impact the country. For this year, 5 to 6 are forecast to reach the Mexican coast.

What is a Hurricane?

- It is a set of clouds in the form of a spiral.

- They rotate counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere.

- They converge at a centre called the eye, where there are no severe weather conditions.

- Occur mainly in the tropical sectors of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans during the summer and autumn "Sea surface temperatures are expected to increase by 1.67°C in regions where tropical systems form and will result in at least a 7% increase in precipitation Warm water also results in higher wind speeds (between 3.2% and 9% on average) "Hurricane Forecast 2020

In the event of a claim?

In the event of an accident at your home or business, remember to remain calm and proceed calmly in order to take the necessary measures, follow the recommendations of the authorities, report immediately to your insurer who will assign you an adjuster.

After a natural disaster

- It is recommended to shut off service lines, but be careful, only if it is safe to do so. In case of loose or dangling lines, report to the appropriate authorities.

- Do not use water in case of contamination - Protect the exterior of your property or facilities only if it has suffered damage and only if it is safe to do so, for repairs consult your insurer - If your car is affected by any of the hydrometeorological phenomena, report it immediately to the insurer.
